The global career-acceleration program for women, ‘See It – Be It’ was held by Pakistan Advertising Association and Pakistan Advertisers Society, in collaboration with Synergy Dentsu.
The program ‘See It Be It’ was launched by Cannes Lions
Being the world’s largest advertising festival began this program five years ago, to address the issue of the under-representation of women at Creative Leadership levels in the advertising industry. The last event held, brought together more than 16,000 attendees from more than 90 countries.
The message of the program is simple, yet effective, when women can ‘See It’, they will be driven to ‘Be It’. The program in Pakistan was inspired by the performance of the Pakistani women, who at every level of academia outshine men.
However, when it comes to the corporate arena, their progression and potential remain unrealized. The aim of the program was to motivate women, by bringing together, female role models and providing them the opportunity to have one on one interaction. This allowed the female participants to present their hurdles and gain knowledge from real-life examples of the speakers of the event.
The speakers at the event, covered multiple different fields of profession, along with the experience of working in places like London, USA, Singapore, Germany, Dubai, and Pakistan.
Each and every speaker brought on stage with the experience they have gained throughout their careers. Each speech motivated, inspired and provided life lessons to the audience present at the event.
The event was graced by multiple international speakers, who traveled to Pakistan to be a part of such a large scale event.
The essence of the event was to help build a stronger female workforce for the country. ‘See it – Be it’ came with a vision of generosity, inclusion, and support to women who are striving to carve a future for themselves.
The crown jewel of the event was the mentoring session held on day 2 with 10 of the speakers present at Cannes See It Be It. The mentors gave a one-on-one first-hand passing of their knowledge down to their mentees, who were shortlisted from all across the city.
This was an excellent opportunity for the mentees as they were able to have a personal counseling session with Farhat Kapadia Mehboob, Farahnaz Haider, Zehra Zaidi, Amena Khan, Farah Sayeed, Shargeel Zafar, Sadia Qutubuddin, Amin Rammal, Shazia Khan, and Athiya Zaidi.
