On 19th August there was a tragedy in Karachi on Karsaz Road. Police say the car driven by Natasha Danish was speeding when it knocked three motor cycles, and another car before overturning a Toyota Land Cruiser. The victim of the accident was a sixty-year Imran Arif and his daughter, twenty-two-year old Amna Arif. Three other persons have also been reported to have some injuries from the same accident.
After the sad event of Karsaz car incident occurred in Karachi many Pakistani celebrities have launched a campaign to protest against the famous fashion brand Gul Ahmed. The said event which was a fatal accident, was followed by an uproar demands for justice.
The driver, Natasha Danish was charged with manslaughter after the incident. The case has attracted much attention especially after information, which Danish was under the influence of methamphetamine (crystal meth) at the time of the accident emerged. Another important event in the investigation process is the medical report which proved the existence of this narcotic in the man’s body.
Legal Actions as Vocal Citizenry
After the occurrence of the event, Danish was taken in court on 21st August. As it was mentioned during the hearing, the counsel for the victims called for inquiry into which type of drug was used. The court then ordered to take Danish on a 14 days judicial remand as per the direction of the court. As for the further investigation, Memon the Inspector General stated that more sections would be incorporated to the FIR in compliance with the medical report.

All in all, the terrible Karsaz incident has resulted in a major controversy against the Gul Ahmed and Pakistani celebrities are in the forefront of boycotting products in the name of venting justice for the bereaved families. The case still has not been closed and the demands for justice do not cease also from legal actions and speaking in public.
