Chatbot Fail: Student Relying On GPT Ends Up With A Zero

ChatGPT is the AI language model that’s still taking the world by storm every single day. Now everyone has been enjoying the benefits of ChatGPT but students are probably using it to its greatest advantage ever. With Chat GPT by their side, research papers and essays are becoming easy peasy, allowing them to focus only on the fun stuff, like Netflix and sleeping. But unfortunately or fortunately the ethical implications of using Chat GPT have raised concerns among teachers and parents about plagiarism and academic integrity.

And recently, ChatGPT decided to backfire on a student. Too bad for them we guess! But was it truly ChatGPT’s fault or was it the students? Here have a look at the exam paper with a big fat zero.

This student, Refiloe Majola, asked ChatGPT to solve her paper for her and then submitted it, but looks like the bot checkers caught her and she was eventually graded a zero for her paper being completely AI-generated.

Now it is not like ChatGPT hasn’t helped students pass exams before, but a little tweaking has to be done before submitting the paper. Students have even gone so far as to rely on Chat GPT to answer exam questions during the test itself. While this may seem like cheating. It is considered smart for some people. ChatGPT has been doing assignments, exams, practice papers, and whatnot.

The Loophole

Since teachers across the world now know their methods to determine whether papers were actually written by the student or not, students have also found some loopholes. Some people under the TikTok video commented cheat codes to put in and pass detection for example:

  • “Chat GPT + Grammarly + Proof Read = Unstoppable” and
  • “Go to sincode.ai and find the undetectable ai feature”

Now which side are you on? The students’ side or the teachers? No matter what it is still truly amazing to see ChatGPT work. But do let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
