JAC Motors, a China-based automotive and commercial manufacturer, is planning to bring electric vehicles to Pakistan, said Deputy Cheif Economic Manager David Zhang.
While talking to APP, Zhang said, “We are planning to introduce new energy vehicles particularly electric cars in the Pakistani market under a long-term development program in the future.”
While discussing Pakistan’s economic state, he said that there has been an improvement in the development of development of infrastructure as the country is gearing up for more stability.
Zhang added that the company and the management are thinking of grasping the opportunity to expand productions in Pakistan. Considering how the cost of electric vehicles have gone down, they have become very accessible for middle class families.
“With more improvement in the economy and fundamental structure ready, we will have an opportunity to take our electric car into Pakistani market.”
He further explained that the company is currently exporting its products for light and mini commercial vehicles in Pakistan and has setup a local manufacturing plant as well.
“The performance of our products in the local market has been very good and we will expand our lines of production from medium to heavy duty trucks in near future,”
The Pak-China friendship has proven to be very beneficial for both sides, especially for the transport and automotive industry. Both countries can do good work and prosper with hand-in-hand giving investors a great chance to make the most of projects like China Pakistan Economic Corridor, a flagship project of Belt and Road Initiative.
