On Saturday, 9th March, the federal government shared a list of 127 names including 18 foreigners who are to be awarded the Civil Awards by President Dr. Arif Alvi.
This award is for their outstanding contributions and excellence in their respective fields and categories. The ceremony will be held on 23rd March.
The list is usually shared on 14th August each year, however this time around, it has been posted weeks in advance.
Amongst the recipients are many prominent figures Pakistanis are well aware of. They are influencers and celebrities, some of them include the following individuals:
- Former Pakistan cricket team captain Wasim Akram
- Former fast bowler Waqar Younis
- Cricketer Yasir Shah
- Singers Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi and Sajjad Ali
- Film actors Babra Sharif, Reema Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Shabbir Jan, and Iftikhar Thakur,
