In order to prevent the Coronavirus outbreak from spreading forward, Qatar has banned the arrival of passengers from 14 countries, including Pakistan.
Other countries that have been banned include China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Nepal, Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Thailand.
Arab countryโs Government Communication Officer said the decision came in addition to Qatar Airways suspending flights to and from Italy as โa preventive measure due to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwideโ.
โThe decision affects all individuals intending to enter from these countries, including visas upon arrival, those with a residence or work permit, and temporary visitors,โ -read the official press release.
Doha has urged โall citizens and residents to avoid all but essential travel at this time.โ
โThese precautionary measures may be subject to further updates based on the latest guidance of the national health authorities and international organizations on the spread of Coronavirus, in order to ensure the safety of all residents of the State of Qatar,โ it clarified.
This decision is for all individuals intending to enter the country from the named countries, including visa upon arrival, those with work permits, temporary visas and residence permit.
