This year, Daraz took the November sale season to a whole new level by launching 11.11 shopping festival for the first time in Pakistan.
The extravaganza, introduced by the parent company and e-commerce giant Alibaba, 10 years ago, aimed to drive Pakistan into a new era of online shopping.
With so much hype and hoopla, extraordinary discounts and exclusive launches by top brands, the leading e-commerce company managed to create a massive buzz over the weekend.
Daraz Brings the World’s Biggest Sale Day – Alibaba’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival – to Pakistan
The Gyara Gyara Sale kicked off at midnight of November 11 and lasted for 24 hours, featuring discounts of up to 91%.
As predicted, shopping buffs thronged the website to avail the tempting offers while they lasted. Consequently, Daraz’s app and the website crashed as their server went down due to heavy traffic.
Twitterverse was quick to troll the brand after the crashing episode!Â
so along with the marketing Daraz should have spent some money on site's stress testing – I knew the site wouldn't sustain the load #Daraz1111 #fb

A flood of memes erupted on the web and some of them were pretty savage!

But Daraz came back even stronger with an epic reply to all the haters. Apologizing for the inconvenience caused due to the crash, the website offered a voucher code to make up to its customers.
But the name of the voucher code ‘ JaaneDo’ is what made us all laugh out loud!
That was indeed an awesome clap back! By using humor, Daraz smartly turned the bad situation in their favor.
