Federal Government
The federal government has announced a three-day public holiday from March 31 to April 2, 2025, for Eid-ul-Fitr. Educational institutions under federal jurisdiction will observe holidays during this period, with the new academic session starting on April 7.
Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. It is one of the most significant religious festivals for Muslims worldwide, fulfilled by communal prayers, feasting and acts of charity. The exact date of Eid-ul-Fitr still depends on the sighting of the moon. This year, we expect it to fall on March 31, following the completion of 29 days of Ramadan.
This extended Eid-ul-Fitr holiday schedule will allow students, teachers and staff members to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with their families and friends, providing a well-deserved break before the commencement of the new academic session.
