A social media controversy erupted after Elon Musk’s hand gestures during his speech at a post-inauguration event sparked comparisons to a Nazi salute. Musk has dismissed the accusations, labelling them as dirty tricks.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk responded by saying, “Frankly, they need better dirty tricks,” and added, “The ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is sooo tired 😴.”

The Tesla CEO shared the post from X user @TheRabbitHole84, who Musk follows, stating that the salute hoax was part of a dirty tricks campaign.
The user also included a previous post by Musk that said: “In the past, I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party. But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican. Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold …”.
Musk also shared a video titled “My talk today at the Presidential Parade,” where he starts his speech by saying, “This is what victory feels like,” while celebrating Trump’s win.
He emphasised, “This was no ordinary victory. This was a fork in the road of human civilisation.” Musk expressed his gratitude, stating, “Elections come and go, but this one really mattered. Thank you for making it happen! Thank you.” He thumped his right hand over his heart and extended his arm upward with his palm facing downward and fingers pressed together. He repeated the gesture for the crowd behind him, saying, “My heart goes out to you. It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured.”
