The other proposals were from Stanford University, Princeton University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, and Michigan University.
The research is based on the way there is increasing misinformation on social media platforms with every passing day, and how it compels audiences to act violently.
Moreover, this issue is particularly challenging in developing countries due to lower literacy levels and limited exposure to technology. Such users are can be considerably more susceptible to believing the information they see and acting upon it.
It is hazardous and hence needs attention. Social media is a great thing but it needs to be used carefully and responsibly.
