Russia has announced that soccer fans can visit the country visa-free for the World Cup this summer.

To encourage attendance, organizers have created a special Fan ID pass that will allow foreign spectators to visit the country between June 4 and July 15 without having to apply for a separate tourist visa.

Along with access to the stadiums, the card also entitles the holder to free public transport on match days in host cities.

To obtain the pass, visitors must have purchased a ticket to a World Cup match. They must then register on the website and fill in their personal information to receive their Fan ID, which is good for travel throughout Russia and access to the games.

Visitors can request to have the passes mailed to them or pick them up at distribution centers in Russia.

This week, organizers announced that within 24 hours of releasing the first batch of tickets, they sold 356,700 tickets mostly to fans in Russia, followed by fans in the US, Argentina, Colombia and Mexico.
