Fog Causes Train Delays Across Pakistan

Train schedules across Pakistan have been severely disrupted due to dense fog and adverse weather conditions. Several trains, including the Rehman Baba Express, Awam Express, Karakorum Express and Business Express, are delayed by multiple hours.

In Karachi, delays have exceeded 12 hours for some trains. The Rehman Baba Express, travelling from Peshawar, is running three hours late, while the Awam Express faces a two-hour delay. The Karakorum Express, coming from Lahore and the Business Express are delayed by six and five hours, respectively.

Delays have also impacted other major routes. The Millat Express, travelling from Faisalabad to Lala Musa, is four hours behind schedule, while the Zakariya Express from Multan is delayed by six and a half hours. Even the privately operated Sir Syed Express is running two hours late.

Despite these disruptions, Pakistan Railways recently reported a 15% revenue increase, with operational costs reduced significantly. CEO Amir Ali Baloch expressed optimism in achieving the Rs109 billion revenue target for the current fiscal year, highlighting efforts to enhance operations despite weather-related challenges.
