foodpanda, Pakistan’s largest delivery platform has partnered with Women on Wheels, an initiative by the Salman Sufi Foundation for social empowerment of women, to create a thousand of new employment opportunities for females.
Under the agreement, Women on Wheels by SSF will provide free motorbike riding training to young women across Pakistan, with the goal of training these women to become future foodpanda riders. Salman Sufi Foundation will take care of the scheduling of the training sessions along with management and maintenance of the training with the help of Women on Wheels training staff, available on the ground throughout all the trainings.
Speaking about the partnership, Salman Sufi, Founder Salman Sufi Foundation commented, “It has always been the aim of our flagship Women on Wheels project to enable and create an economic ecosystem where the women of Pakistan can be financially empowered to make their own decisions while working for the betterment of Pakistan. Our latest collaboration with foodpanda is a practical realization towards that goal and we are confident that our WoW trained female riders will be an asset for the foodpanda community at large.”
By enhancing women’s mobility, the partnership targets at improving their freedom and inclusion in Pakistani society while also increasing their economic participation and access to education.
