former-cricketers-question-pakistan-christmas-gesture

The Pakistan cricket team made headlines by surprising their Australian counterparts with Christmas gifts, a gesture that garnered appreciation from many. However, former Australian spinner

raised eyebrows with his remarks, speculating whether past cricketing greats like Sourav Ganguly would have followed suit.

In a video shared by the PCB, the entire Pakistani team was seen presenting gifts and sweets, fostering a positive interaction that was captured for all to see.

O’Keefe’s comments hint at a belief in the need for a more competitive and spirited approach to succeed in Australia’s challenging cricket conditions. He emphasized the necessity for a “feisty” attitude against the Australians, contrasting it with the perceived congeniality of the ongoing Test series.

“This Test series is unfolding in the best of spirits? You’re not going to defeat Australia in such an environment. Christmas Presents yesterday. Would Sourav Ganguly have arrived bearing gifts for Steve Waugh? No,” remarked Keefe.

“To overcome the Aussies, you have to play with fire. You need some edge. This is all too agreeable. And then, they start the Boxing Day with a half-volley,” he added.

Former Pakistan Cricketers’ Reaction to Christmas Gesture

Echoing these sentiments, former Pakistan cricketer Bazid Khan also raised questions about the friendliness exhibited by Pakistan players towards the opposition.

Has Pakistan become the most friendly team in the world? All smiles with the opposition,” Bazid Khan questioned on ‘X’.

Former captain Rashid Latif also shared the same sentiments with a sarcastic reply to Bazid Khan’s post.
