June 11, 2020:Â Friends co-creator, Marta Kauffman, apologies to her fans for sitcom’s lack of diversity. Black Lives Matters protests have emerged essential conversations regarding the lack of representation that no one was ready for.
Kauffman was more than a writer on the show. She was also an executive producer for the all-white star show. The leading cast in the show was Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry.
“I wish I knew then what I knew today; I would have made very different decisions. We’ve always encouraged people of diversity in our company, but I didn’t do enough,” she confessed.
“Now, all I can think about is what can I do, what can I do differently? How can I run my show in a new way? That’s something I wish I knew when I started show running, but all the way up through last year.”
From the beginning of the show, which began airing in 1994 to its last episode back in 2004, the comedy sitcom has bagged thousands of die-hard fans from all around the globe. It is to date that the sitcom is celebrated by its massive fan following.
Just recently, the news of a reunion episode was surfacing on the internet when the coronavirus interrupted the rehearsals.

The Official Friends Cookbook is set to release on September 22, 2020. The book is said to feature 70 recipes with different options for chefs of all levels. So, whether you’re a pro like Monica Geller who loves to amaze her friends with her delicious cooking or a total beginner like Rachel Green, you’re going to find something just for you!
What to expect?
The cookbook will take care of everything. From starters and main courses to desserts and drink; You’ll find them all! However, that’s not all. The cookbook will not only be featuring all the fantastic recipes, but it will also feature some iconic foodie moments from across the show’s ten seasons.
Earlier, the Friends reunion special was postponed because of COVID-19, and that’s when the cookbook was announced. The production of the HBO Max Friends Reunions has been delayed, and hopefully, the premiere date will soon be announced.
Bob Greenblatt, WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer chairman said,
“At first we thought, shows will be delayed for a month or two at the most, and now it seems like it’s going to be far longer than that,”
He further added,
“We’re holding out for being able to get this special done hopefully by the end of the summer if the stars align, and hopefully, we can get back into production.”
