Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB, visited Gaddafi Stadium to examine the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 renovations. He examined the newly constructed upper-tier seating structure and appreciated the better view from the top seats. Naqvi also ordered the building of high-quality grills along the trench for aesthetic purposes, stating, “The renovated stadium will have a seating capacity of approximately 34,000 spectators and we aim to complete the project before the Champions Trophy in 2025.”

Officials stated that 80% of the construction work was done within 53 days, with 75% of the enclosure work completed. Naqvi claimed that the stadium is being restored to international standards. On another issue, the PCB rejected the BCCI’s hybrid model plan, asking that the event be held solely in Pakistan.

Speaking to the media at Dubai Stadium, Naqvi emphasised that any new formula regarding the ICC event must ensure equality and fairness.

”All the boards are trying to ensure a win-win for all; Pakistan also wants that cricket should win.” said Mohsin Naqvi.
