– November 14: Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has named Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi as the key threats in the upcoming white-ball series between the two countries.

Speaking to the media in Melbourne, Maxwell highlighted Pakistan’s unpredictability. He acknowledged that even a top-tier team like Australia needs to be cautious, as Pakistan has the ability to pull off surprises when least expected.

“Pakistan can be very dangerous at different times,” Maxwell said, acknowledging that the Green Shirts have caused problems for Australia in the past. “They’re unpredictable, which makes them tough to play against. You never know what to expect.”

Pakistan’s Trump Cards — Babar Azam & Shaheen Afridi

Maxwell was quick to praise two of Pakistan’s most consistent performers: Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi. Babar, one of the world’s top batters, and Shaheen, a lethal force with the new ball, are players Maxwell believes Australia will need to manage carefully.

“We definitely have to keep an eye on Babar Azam. He’s an absolute superstar,” Maxwell said, recognizing Babar’s ability to single-handedly turn games in Pakistan’s favor.

As for Shaheen, Maxwell called him “a wizard with the new ball,” highlighting the challenge that Australia’s batters will face when the left-arm quick gets into his rhythm.

“Shaheen Afridi is world-class. Pakistan has some amazing players, and we’re looking forward to the challenge,” Maxwell added.
