Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Global Service Providers such as Google and Netflix have contacted Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The contact was made to inform them about the steps the tech giants have taken to lower the burden on Telecom Networks.

Google has introduced new features and sources that will allow Pakistani users to access locally relevant information. This information will be provided by the National Institute of Health as they will be directly linked to the service.
COVID19 SOS Alerts and Knowledge Panels
Other than that, the expansion of features also includes COVID19 SOS Alerts and Knowledge Panels on Google Search, as well as YouTube Information Panels.
Bolo
Bolo, a speech-based reading application has also been introduced by google that assists students to learn fast and easy lessons on business, marketing, management, and more. The lessons are available in Urdu as well.
All tech giants including Google have been taking serious actions against any misinformation regarding the deadly virus on the internet.
Ministry of National Health Services is also being provided ‘ad inventory’ by Google so they can highlight timely and helpful information.
To reduce traffic, Netflix has taken a series of steps including ways to reduce traffic by 25% which is valid for 30 days. While also maintaining the quality of service in the region.
