The federal cabinet held a meeting on Tuesday. After the meeting, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan shared that the government will grant 50,000 scholarships to students coming from needy families.
She further added that these scholarships will be distributed in the next 4 years. Over 120 universities will benefit from this program, so will students who come from households that earn less than Rs. 45,000 a month.
Not just that, the politician added that a 2% quota will also be kept for the disabled and minorities.
She shared that the federal cabinet has given a green-signal to construct the Rs. 510bn Dasu Dam after approval of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). Work on this project will start next month.
Dr. Firdous said the Cabinet was given a detailed presentation on the Ehsaas Programme.
