During a recent appearance on Maliha Rehman’s talk show, Hajra Yamin was questioned regarding the emotional toll of playing her role in Noor Jahan.
Hajra went on to explain her decision to take up the part—the storyline would of course be set in the future context. She complimented the show’s director, Musaddiq, for his remarkable approach. Portrayal of Male Characters
Yamin was quick to defend that there are no evil men in the drama. Shockingly, even the role of Noor Bano’s father is presented in a positive light, a man, who only wants to protect, his daughter.
This sarcasm is opposite to most of the movies where the male characters are portrayed as bearing negative attributes. Yamin here had a unique experience of this script; she rarely needed to elaborate to the director about her point of view as Musaddiq’s ideas were akin to hers regarding the relationships among the characters.
