Are you one of those who will dress up like the nines this Eid, or do you intend to just spend your days in pajamas and Netflixing? Well, either way, you’re sorted.
Since Eid is just a week away, countless Muslims around the world are preparing themselves for the fact that the festival this year will be unlike any other, and not in the right way at all.
When Muslims around the world say farewell to Ramadan – they also look forward to the festivities of Eid al-Fitr. Depending on the moon’s sighting, Eid celebrations will commence either on Saturday, May 23, or Sunday, May 24.
For girls, preparing for Eid is a lot about the perfect outfit, matching accessories, and opting for the ideal hairstyle. Choosing a dress type, dress color, appropriate accessories, etc. becomes a challenge when one is busy in life.
The question right now, though, is how to dress up this Eid, as we’re going to have either small gatherings instead of grand dinners and mostly stay in rather than stepping out.
This is why we’ve jotted down some trends you can opt for this Eid.
1. Choosing the colors
Opt wearing colors that are pleasant to the eyes since its boiling hot outside. You don’t want to look like a walking corpse in that black or brown or even gray kurta, pants, and heels when you can choose to don in beautiful pastel colors like yellow, lemon, white, pink, pistachio green, and blue. Hareem Farooq’s last year’s Eid look was spot on, which is why we had to put her in this list for your inspiration.
2. Making the cut
Both long and short length kurtas are the go-to fashion these days. Styling kurtas with light jewelry like pearls or tiny earrings and hear clips would add that oomph to your entire look. Opt for bright embroidery or chikankari. Sadaf Kanwal looks effortlessly chic in this short kurta.
If you’re getting a ready-made ensemble, then you’re sorted, but if you intend to get it stitched, then ask your tailor to decorate the hem of your kameez, the trouser, or the sleeves with pearls or a transparent swath of cloth to add a tinge of sophistication. You can also get a brooch stitched on the shirt with a suspending necklace like chain fastened to both shoulders. Take inspiration from Sonya Hussyn as she looks sophisticated yet stylish in an all-white gharara and kameez.
3. Opting the right fabric
Forget about the heavy dress materials like silk, jamawar, velvet, etc. and yourself a favor and opt for lawn and cotton, which are your best bets. You can play funky to elegant prints and patterns. These materials are also equipped with the lace extensions and look more feminine. We’re digging Omer’s looks in the above boomerang and how elegant the starlet looks in a blend of pink and dull gold.
4. Accessories
Wear simple, long earrings that touch your shoulders to add a few inches to your figure. No matter how small they are, wear heels to add a finishing touch to your look. Carry a clutch or structured purse, and not your handbag. And match your heels to the color of the embroidery rather than the base fabric.
5. Ditch everything
If nothing works for you and you’re too lazy to get up and dress yourselves during quarantine, then chill in your PJs and snack on popcorn while you binge-watch Friends.
