Some Things You Need Prior
It is important for you to know that as an applicant you need to have a valid national driving license issued locally. Doing this will also ensure you get yours immediately as there is no wait.
Why You Should Get One
Getting one can also serve as an identification card abroad in case you lose your ID card. However, note that it is only for temporary purposes.
Punjab
To get an international driving license in Punjab, the Rasta app is recommended. The app has been developed by the Punjab IT Board. You can get an appointment on it and it is available for iOS and Windows on the App store.Â
Here’s what you didn’t know: the app can also be used for booking appointments for other license things. For instance, for applying for a learner’s driving permit or even for the issuance of a national or international driving license.
The Application Requirements
You will get an application and will have to fill out and attach it with the relevant documents:Â
- Two attested passport-sized photographs.
- One attested photocopy of a valid CNIC.
- A photocopy of your passport.
- One photocopy of your valid national driving license.
- Medical certificate (for age 50 and above).
- A Rs. 66 ticket obtained from the District Court.
- A fee voucher of Rs. 450 voucher to be paid at a Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Branch.
Islamabad
People in Islamabad can visit the Citizen Facilitation Center, G-11/4 for an international driving license. The normal procedure costs roughly around Rs. 1050. Moreover, it takes 7 days on average. If you’d like it urgently, it will take 24 hours and the fee will be Rs. 2050.
These are the documents you will need:Â
- Copy of a valid driving license issued by Islamabad Traffic Police.
- Two Passport-Sized Photographs.
- One photocopy of a valid passport along with a valid visa.
- One photocopy of your CNIC.
- Residential proof in Islamabad.
- Driving stamp of Rs. 30 by Post Office.
- Medical certificate (if applicable, for age 50 and above).
If you’re from Islamabad, you can also download the form from https://ictadministration.gov.pk/wp-content/uploads/International-Driving-Permit-Form.docx. Simply attach the required documents.
Sindh
For Sindh, you would have to use the driving license website which is: https://dls.sindhpolice.gov.pk/home/app. Book an appointment and select your center from here.
The documents you would need:
- Two Passport-Sized Photographs.
- A single photocopy of the Pakistani Driving license (issued by Sindh Police).
- One photocopy of a valid passport along with a valid visa.
- One photocopy of the CNIC of you.
- Medical certificate (if applicable, for age 50 and above).
- Proof of Residence.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
For Peshawar, one would have to visit Room No. 11, Second Floor, Tasneem Plaza along with all the relevant documents.
This is what you will be needing:
- Two Passport-Sized Photographs.
- One photocopy of a valid driving license.
- A photocopy of a valid passport along with a valid visa.
- One photocopy of the applicant’s CNIC.
- Residential proof.
- Postal driving stamp.
- Medical certificate (if applicable, for age 50 and above).
