How to Make Your Own Nail Polish At Home?
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Eyeshadow
- Clear Nail Polish (Base Coat or Top Coat)
- Cuticle Pusher
- Paper Funnel (optional)
Step 1
Start by scooping your favorite color from the eyeshadow palette with the help of a cuticle pusher and grind it into finely milled powder. Then insert a small funnel into the bottle’s neck.
Step 2Â
Use the tip of a popsicle stick or a small scoop to add glitter or colourants to the funnel. You can stick to one colour or create your blends by mixing multiple colourants together. Add a large pinch of colour to make a sheer polish or as much as 1/4-1/2 teaspoon for a heavier, more opaque colour.

Step 3
Gently tap the bottle and funnel to drop the colorant into the bottle. Be careful not to spill the colorants or get glitter everywhere. This part can be VERY messy!
Step 4
Remove the funnel, carefully fill the bottle with a polish base, and screw the cap onto the bottle.
Step 5
Shake, and shake some more. It will take a lot of effort to mix the polish for the first time. Shake the bottle for 30-60 seconds, or until the colours are well blended into the base.
Step 6
Apply to your nails! Be sure to use a good base coat and topcoat and your custom polish. This will help make the colour last and show off your gorgeous custom polish at its best. Clear up any lingering colour from the corners and cuticles, and you are good to go.
