The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the highly anticipated Champions Trophy 2025 will remain in Pakistan, with no plans to relocate the tournament.
Despite recent rumors about a potential shift in venue, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice has confirmed that the tournament will go ahead as planned in Pakistan.
During a media briefing in Dubai, Allardice addressed concerns about the tournament’s location and reassured everyone that there are no plans to relocate.
Pakistan, he said, is more than ready to host the prestigious event, and there’s been no hesitation from any participating teams about playing in the country.

Pakistan Gears Up for Cricket’s Return
Pakistan has been hard at work preparing for this major tournament. Iconic stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi are undergoing big renovations, with plans to upgrade them to international standards.
And let’s not forget, Pakistan has a special connection to the ICC Champions Trophy. Back in 2017, they claimed their first-ever Champions Trophy title, pulling off a stunning win against arch-rivals India in the final.
That victory – led by former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed – was one of the most memorable moments in Pakistan’s cricket history. Now, with the tournament heading to their home turf, there’s hope for a repeat performance in 2025.
A Mini World Cup on the Horizon
Often referred to as the “Mini World Cup,” the Champions Trophy brings together eight of the world’s top cricket teams. This time around, Pakistan will compete alongside India, Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Sadly, cricketing giants Sri Lanka and the West Indies didn’t make the cut for this edition.
But make no mistake, the tournament will be packed with excitement. Fans are already buzzing at the prospect of seeing intense rivalries play out on Pakistani soil, especially with neighbors India set to take part. The thought of a potential India-Pakistan showdown is enough to send chills down the spine of any cricket fan!
No Hesitation from Teams
While there have been concerns in the past about teams traveling to Pakistan due to security, those days seem to be behind us. Allardice made it clear that all teams are fully committed to playing in the country
Fans across the country are eagerly anticipating the return of high-profile cricket matches, and with their team defending the title on home soil, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Can Pakistan repeat their 2017 success? Will the rivalry between Pakistan and India take center stage? One thing’s for sure – the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is shaping up to be an event cricket fans won’t want to miss.
