The KP government has introduced yet another health insurance program called ‘Ilaj Sahulat Plan’. During their last tenure of PTI’s government, the party introduced the province-wide ‘Sehat Insaf Programme’.
Reportedly, the plan is in its beta phase (pilot project), if it proves to be successful then it will be carried across throughout the province. The KP government is launching the project in association with the National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) and State Life insurance company.
Adviser to K-P Chief Minister on Education Ziaullah Bangash shared that the government has issued the ‘Sehat Insaf Cards’ to residents in different parts of the province.

The Sehat Insaf Card programme will remain intact and the launch of the Ilaj Shaulat Plan will not interfere with the health program. Citizens in 4 districts-Kohat, Malakand, Mardan, and Chitral will be able to make most of the best health care services.
He furthermore added that families will only have to pay PKR 2,550 a year and in return will get services worth of PKR 30,000 at hospitals throughout KP and will be able to avail ambulance services only for RS. 1,000.
Initially, the PTI-led KP government launched their flagship Sehat Insaf Cards program back in August 2016. The program had been formed to cover 1.8mn families in the province while only costing the government Rs. 5.2bn over a 2-year span. The cards are accepted in 102 designated healthcare facilities including both private and public hospitals.
