Former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has broken his silence regarding the possibility of a ‘u-turn’ from his decision to retire from international cricket.

Imad Wasim shocked the cricketing world with his sudden retirement in November last year, however, his latest comments have hinted towards a potential comeback in the future.

In a candid conversation with a local news outlet, Imad reaffirmed his commitment to the retirement decision while leaving the door slightly ajar for a potential return if the need arises for Pakistan.

“The decision I made to retire was one I stood by completely. However, in cricket, you never know when your country might call upon you again. In such situations, one must be ready to step up,” Imad stated.

Although he hinted at his comeback, he also expressed the desire for clarity from the team management beforehand. He emphasized the importance of understanding his role as a senior player and the team’s cricketing philosophy moving forward.

“What I want to know is about clarity — it’s about giving me responsibility, not as a captain but as a senior player, to take the team where I want to or where a group of senior players wants to take it,” he explained.

Imad underscored his vision for Pakistani cricket, emphasizing the significance of playing the right brand of cricket with the ideal combination of players.

“I want Pakistan to play the right cricket, the right style, and the right combination. There is nothing wrong with taking retirement. I’m really happy; I’m still playing cricket all over the world,” Imad asserted.

He concluded his statement by glimmering a ray of hope for something good. “Hopefully something good comes up soon.”

Imad Wasim is currently playing in the ILT20 for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, owned by Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan’s Knight Riders Group.
