IMF’s representative Mahir Binici said the mission will assess Pakistan’s climate reforms and RSF technical requirements. Government officials have submitted the Climate-Related Public Investment Management Assessment (C-PIMA), aligning future budgets with IMF and World Bank guidelines.

Pakistan requested $1.2 billion in RSF funding last year to boost climate resilience. The IMF recommends allocating at least 1% of GDP (about Rs1.24 trillion) annually for climate adaptation to reduce the impact of extreme weather, especially floods.
