Pakistan is gearing up to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, but there’s a big question lingering in the air—will India travel to Pakistan for the tournament? But the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi is confident that India will visit Pakistan.

In a recent media interaction in Lahore, Naqvi seemed pretty optimistic about India’s participation in the Champions Trophy, despite the ongoing uncertainty.

“I have full confidence in the Indian team… So far, there is nothing that would cause them to postpone or cancel,” Naqvi said. He firmly believes that all teams, including India, will be in Pakistan for the tournament.

BCCI’s Response?

It’s worth noting that there is no breaking of ice so far from the Indian side. Rajeev Shukla, the vice-president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), recently confirmed that they are still awaiting government approval before making any announcements.

“It’s up to the government to decide whether our team should go to any country,” Shukla said. India hasn’t traveled to Pakistan since 2008 due to political tensions, and the BCCI always seeks government permission for international tours, so this is nothing new.

Pakistan’s Preparations in Full Swing

Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi also mentioned that the ongoing stadium upgrades are on track, and fans can expect a “brand new stadium” feel when the tournament kicks off.

“The stadiums will be ready to host the matches on schedule,” Naqvi shared, clearly happy with how the preparations are going. Even though some minor work might extend beyond the tournament, the venues will be more than ready to welcome international teams.
