Indian YouTuber and blogger, Paramjeet Singh, hilariously roasted the Bollywood and T-Series remake of Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s popular single “Pasoori.” Arijit Singh’s version of “Pasoori Nu” for the upcoming movie “SatyaPrem Ki Katha” has already been receiving a lot of criticism online, not only from Pakistanis but also from Indians.
People first argued over the need of recreating an iconic song but remixing and even “ruining” old songs is an old habit within Bollywood. Later, fans also hated the remake because of how bad it was.
Here have a look at it if you haven’t seen it already.
Now, in a viral video, Paramjeet Singh, known as Mister Param, created his own parody of the Coke Studio hit, highlighting the issues with Bollywood producers and T-Series ruining good songs through shameless remakes.
Sharing the clip with a Punjabi caption, he gained widespread attention. He is a popular Punjabi Indian influencer and already has a good amount of followers online. But after posting the “roasting” video online, he definitely has gained more Pakistan fans.
“Pasoori” was originally sung by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill on Coke Studio Season 14, and became a global sensation. The song captivated social media and is still loved by people worldwide. However, compared to the original, Arijit Singh’s remake received backlash for its generic Bollywood love song approach, deviating from the unique style and essence of the original by Xulfi and Coke Studio.
Netizens appreciated the original song for its tune and style, contrasting it with the generic remake. Arijit Singh has since apologized to the fans, explaining that he participated in the remake for a noble cause which was donating all profits to charity. What are your thoughts on this?
