Shopaholics can rejoice thanks to the newest Instagram feature!
The latest news to hit the Instagram community is that the popular social media platform has expanded its shopping feature to its stories!
That’s right – after introducing a way for users to shop for looks through its feed, users will now be able to shop directly from their Instagram stories as well.
The Facebook owned social media app has announced that it will be adding stickers with a shopping bag icon to its Stories and users would just have to tap on the sticker to view more details about the product.
From Tuesday onwards, several retailers including The Kooples, Adidas and Aritzia will be able to tag and directly link their products for customers to shop without having to leave the app.
With the option to target specific audience restricted, users would have to be followers of the company on Instagram to view these shopping-link posts.
However, the Instagram Stories shopping feature is available only for businesses and not consumers or individual sellers to get affiliate payments.
Apart from that, companies will only be able to directly link to products that they themselves, sell meaning third-party retailers won’t be able to benefit.
Well this is certainly an interesting feature for sure! Would you be trying it out?
