Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed held talks with Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslam on ways to boost railroad cooperation between the two countries.
According to Iran’s news agency ‘Tasnim News’, the republic is ready to transport the Pakistani pilgrims to Iran’s holy city of Mashhad and Iraq’s holy city of Karbala via railroad network.
Sheikh Rasheed added that Pakistan can transport its products to Central Asian and European states using the Iranian rail network, states Radio Pakistan.

The Minister was of the opinion that Pakistan and Iran should unite in the building of railway links between Taftan and Quetta and Chahbahar and Gwadar.

Rasheed is currently on a three-day official visit of Iran.
