Islamabad on High Alert after Jaffar Express Attack

Following the attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan, security has been increased across Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad.

Local authorities acted quickly to increase security after the violent incident, particularly in the vicinity of key government areas. The area surrounding the Islamabad Police Lines is now much more secure.

To maintain safety, more police commandos have been sent in and roads close to the IG office and the Police Lines have been sealed.

Concrete blocks have been placed outside the police lines, and barbed wires have been set up as part of the enhanced security measures. These measures are, however, temporary, pending the resolution of the situation. Police have assured the public that additional security will remain in place as needed.

Twenty-seven terrorists were killed in the security forces’ quick clearance operation after the attack.

The terrorists who carried out the horrific attack on the Jaffar Express are in communication with their mastermind in Afghanistan, security officials stated.
