Israel Launches Deadly Airstrikes on Gaza, Shatters Ceasefire

Israel has broken the fragile two-month-old ceasefire between its forces and Hamas with a massive attack on Gaza.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, Israeli airstrikes throughout the territory early on Tuesday killed at least 232 Palestinians, many of them being children. According to medical authorities, at least 20 persons were killed in Gaza City in the north and at least 77 in Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, said he gave the military orders to take “strong action” against Hamas for refusing to accept proposals to prolong the ceasefire or free prisoners abducted from Israel.
