For the academic year 2023–2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) will award annual grants to foreign students, including those from Nigeria and Italian nationals living abroad, to support the international economic system of Italy and promote international cooperation in the arts, sciences, and technology.
There are grants available for enrolling in study, training, and/or research programs at accredited public universities in Italy. At Italian higher education institutions, both public and legally recognized, grants are available to pursue study, training, and/or research programs.

Tuition Fees
Depending on the policies of each university, grant recipients may not be required to pay enrollment and tuition fees. The payment of enrollment fees is required for all Italian language and culture courses; exemptions are not given.
Medical and Health Insurance
For the term of the project, grantees will be protected by a health, medical, and accident insurance plan that MAECI has arranged. Events resulting from existing physical and psychological problems are not covered by insurance.
Financial Grant
Grantees will receive a monthly allowance of 900 Euros, paid in their Italian bank account, on a quarterly basis.

Depending on the sort of study, the duration of the scholarship can be either six or nine months. Only applicants who demonstrate satisfactory academic improvement are eligible for renewal.
Eligibility CriteriaÂ
Only international students who are not residents of Italy or Italian citizens (IRE)* who possess the necessary academic credentials to register in an Italian university or institute may submit an application.
Age Limit
With the exception of renewals, candidates for the Master’s degree, higher education programmes in the arts, music, and dance (AFAM). As well as, advanced courses in Italian language and culture must be at least 18 years old by the application deadline and not older than 28 years old (born after June 9, 1994).
By the deadline for this call, applicants for PhD programmes must be at least 18 years old. Meanwhile, under 30 years old with the sole exception of renewals.
Applicants for Research Projects under academic supervision should have attained the age of majority and shall not exceed the age of 40 years by the deadline of this call (born after June 9th 1982).

After registering at the official website, applicants must fill out and submit the online application form. On June 9, 2023, applications must be received by 2 p.m. (Central European Time).
