Competing against the three major political parties of Pakistan, the independent candidate Jibran Nasir has come out pretty strong amongst his rivals.
So much so, the Public Interest Law Association of Pakistan (PILAP) has ranked his manifesto the highest as compared to those put forth by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Jibran Nasir’s manifesto achieved 70% score with PML-N’s bagging 66% marks. Reeling below were PTI and PPP with the lowest ranking of 63% and 52% respectively.
Proud of the feat, Jibran Nasir’s official page stated:
“We are proud of our team for its efforts, vision [and] understanding of issues and are grateful to policy experts who served as mentors. The journey begins with One.
Following was the criteria on the basis of which the manifestos were judged:
- access to justice
- access to water
- public interest
- education
- access to health
- transport and communication
- security to minorities
- women and children
- police reforms among others
Consequently, the ranking was given based on the parties/candidate’s future plans, marked as either satisfactory, good or excellent.
