Former wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal, who is known for his blunt remarks, has made some bold claims, slamming the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for its lack of professionalism.
Akmal reacted right after India’s stunning 280-run win over Bangladesh in Chennai—a reminder of just how far behind Pakistan seems to be.
Not too long ago, that same Bangladeshi team handed Pakistan a convincing series loss, raising serious alarms about the state of our cricket.

The Wake-Up Call
In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Kamran didn’t hold back. He urged the PCB to take notes from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). “They have professionalism, a solid team, reliable selectors, and great coaches,” he said.
“These are the things that make a team number one and dominate the world. If we were so good, then Pakistan cricket wouldn’t be here. It is because of your ego Pakistan cricket is suffering.”
And honestly, it’s tough to argue with him. India is arguably the best team across the globe in all three formats of the game. They stayed undefeated in the ODI World Cup 2023 before losing to Australia in the final.
Meanwhile, in the T20 World Cup 2024, they lifted the trophy after an undefeated campaign. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s performances have been, well, pretty lackluster.

Recent Struggles
Under Babar Azam’s captaincy, the team faced a brutal exit from the ODI World Cup 2023 at the group stage. After that blow, the PCB decided to shake things up.
Babar stepped down as captain but was brought back just months before the T20 World Cup. Shan Masood kept the Test captaincy, but the team kept struggling. Then came the T20 World Cup, which turned into another disaster as Pakistan lost in a nail-biting Super Over against co-hosts the USA.
In light of these challenges, the PCB has rolled out a high-level Connection Camp aimed at creating a unified vision for Pakistan cricket’s future.
But let’s be real—many fans are skeptical. Will this camp bring about real change, or will it just be another meeting filled with empty promises?
