Karachi Kings have made key selections in the HBL PSL 10 Player Draft, bringing in experienced international stars and young local talent. The franchise made a big statement by picking New Zealand legend Kane Williamson, former Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi and top-order batter Omair Bin Yousuf in the Supplementary category.
In the Emerging category, the Karachi Kings selected fast bowler Fawad Ali from Swat and promising batter Muhammad Riazullah from Upper Dir. Fawad has come through the Karachi Kings’ player development program, “Khiladi Ki Khoj,” reflecting the franchise’s commitment to nurturing local talent. Riazullah, who impressed in the 2024 ACC U19 Asia Cup, was one of the tournament’s standout performers, finishing as the third-highest run-scorer with 227 runs at an average of 75.66.

Williamson, with his wealth of experience in all formats, adds immense value to the squad. He has played 105 Test matches, 165 ODIs and 93 T20Is, with 2,575 runs in T20Is alone. His strong domestic and franchise record, with over 6,500 runs, further strengthens Karachi Kings’ batting lineup.
Mohammad Nabi brings his all-round capabilities to the team. The Afghanistan cricketer has a long and successful T20 career, having played 422 T20 matches since 2010. With 6,089 runs and 361 wickets, Nabi is one of the most sought-after players in the format. Omair Bin Yousuf, another local talent, brings his T20 experience to Karachi, having scored 1,024 runs in 40 matches.
Finally, Mirza Mamoon Imtiaz, a talented left-arm wrist spinner, was selected as the final supplementary pick. Like Fawad, he is also a product of the “Khiladi Ki Khoj” program and is set to showcase his skills on a larger stage.
