Karachi is experiencing a cold spell as the night’s minimum temperature dropped to 8.9°C at Jinnah Terminal on Sunday night. Other areas, such as Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Shahrah-e-Faisal and Mauri Pur, recorded temperatures of 10.5°C, 11.5°C and 12.5°C respectively. Icy winds from Balochistan made the city feel 2 to 4 degrees colder, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). During the day, maximum temperatures will likely stay at 27°C.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) is still above the healthy level, reaching 183 points. On the other hand, the current temperature prevailing in northern areas of Pakistan is freezing with Leh experiencing -13°C and Skardu -7°C. In Gilgit-Baltistan, it snowed and in northwestern Balochistan cold wave continued as Quetta recorded a minimum temperature of -6 °C. The PMD also pointed out that the cold wave will persist in many regions of the country.
