The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has forecasted a cold wave according to the latest weather report for Karachi.
The experts claim that the city will experience dry and cold weather for the next 24 hours.
They furthermore expect a frost cold wave to enter the system within 48 hours causing the temperature to plunge.
According to the PMD, Karachi will experience a maximum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and humidity level at 46%.
PMD had predicted a cold and dry spell earlier as well for Karachiites due to chilly wind and rain in Balochistan through Iran and Afghanistan and showers in KPK.
Widespread rain/wind-thunderstorm is expected in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir from Wednesday (night) to Friday, read a report by Express-News.
It further added, Isolated heavy falls are also expected in Quetta, Zhob, Makran, Kalat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir from Thursday (evening/night) to Friday. Snowfall is also expected over the mountains during the period.
According to the MET office, the rate of pressure was in the northwestern direction and this pressure or the pressure gradient is suitable for good winters.
A westerly wave is present over the northern parts of the country and likely to affect upper parts during the next 12 hours.
Dry weather is expected in most parts of the country today, while cold in northern parts, however, rain-thunderstorm is expected in isolated areas.
