Mere Pass Tum Ho’s writer, Khalil ur Rehman was invited to Waqar Zaka’s Headphone Show on his Youtube channel where he expressed his thoughts regarding the recent backlash he has received from the critics and audience even after many successful projects.
Waqar Zaka has been hosting a headphone show on his Youtube Channel since the lockdown due to the deadly coronavirus. He has been trying to cheer up the audience who are trapped inside their homes. Some of them have even lost their jobs.
Rehman on the show said that he wishes to do something meaningful for his country before he dies. Given the situation that Rehman has been fired from his upcoming projects, he says, if he is shunned by the Pakistan film industry, he will ‘switch’.

Last month, the writer was being called out for abusing a feminist and a journalist, Marvi Sirmed on a live show. The panel that included Khalil-ur-Rehman, Marvi Sirmed and JUIF’s spokesperson were discussing ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’ slogan in regards to the Aurat March where Rehman uttered horrendous slurs during the argument on the national television.
Rehman believes his critics have very little influence. They can’t do much about the appreciation he receives from the audience for his work or his popularity. Rehman believes the critics are just harming themselves by actively indulging in such activities.
