The ongoing blockade of the Parachinar-Peshawar Road for 68 days has left Kurram district residents struggling for daily-use commodities and essential medical supplies. The freezing temperatures have worsened conditions, especially for children, with doctors reporting overcrowded wards and parents taking sick children back home due to a lack of heating.

Dr Zulfiqar Ali from the DHQ Hospital in Parachinar emphasized the immediate need for Liquefied Petroleum Gas for heating, oxygen cylinders for emergencies, and medicines for children. Kurram Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud stated that ongoing jirga efforts to resolve the tribal dispute causing the road blockade have reached a deadlock on certain conditions. Meanwhile, residents continue to bear the brunt of the crisis, which shows no signs of immediate resolution.
