We’ve seen prices drop left and right, thanks to changes in taxes and some serious competition among carmakers. Let’s take a look at some of the rides that got the biggest discounts in 2024.
Remember that tax hike back in March 2023? Well, it hit cars priced over Rs. 4 million hard. But in March 2024, the government took a U-turn, and suddenly, manufacturers like Toyota and Honda were scrambling to drop their prices below that magic number to dodge the tax bullet.
KIA Stonic
First up, we’ve got the KIA Stonic, a little SUV that’s not afraid to make a statement. They slashed its price from a hefty 6.4 million PKR down to a more Budget-friendly 4.7 million PKR. Sure, it might gulp a bit more gas than you’d like, but it’s loaded with cool features and drives like its floating.
Suzuki Swift
Then there’s the Suzuki Swift, stepping up its game with a decent price drop of 710K PKR. Now, it’s neck and neck with the Stonic at 4.7 million PKR (previosly at Rs 5.4 million). With its sleek looks and Suzuki reliability, it’s a tough one to beat.
Toyota Yaris
Toyota’s Yaris also joined the price-cut party, though not as generously. They knocked off anywhere from 73K to 133K PKR, but hey, every little bit counts, right?
- Old Price: 4.89 million PKR (ATIV 1.3 CVT)
- New Price: 4.76 million PKRÂ (reduction announced on March 14, 2024)
- Change in price: 133K PKR
Honda City
Honda City followed suit with a modest drop of 140K PKR. It’s still a popular choice, especially for folks who care more about resale value than fancy features. The extra leg room makes it a fair ask at 4.46 million PKR after a drop from 4.8 million PKR.
Cherry Tigo 8 Pro
But let’s talk about a real game-changer: the Cherry Tiggo 8 Pro. They took a massive axe to its price, chopping off a cool 850K PKR. Sure, some might hesitate because it’s Chinese, but trust us, it’s worth a look. A drop from 10.3 million PKR to 9.5 milllion PKR makes it a heavy contender. In addition chinese cars like Haval and and Baic are examples of top chinese quality.
Peugot
Last but not least, Peugeot 2008 decided to join the party with not one but two price cuts. First, they knocked off 100K PKR in March, and then they dropped another bomb with a 450K PKR cut in April. That’s some serious savings right there. It is still hardly available for booking at 7.25 million PKR due to its high demand but the drop from 7.7 million PKR is pretty significant.
So, whether you’re in the market for a zippy little hatchback or a sturdy SUV, there’s never been a better time to snag a deal. With prices dropping like hotcakes, the only question now is: which ride will you pick?
