Pakistan’s very own badminton star Mahoor Shahzad wins gold medal at Pakistan International Series.
Mahoor was the only Pakistani player to win a gold medal in the competition, beating her Iranian competitor.
The winning match consisted three sets with the scores of 21-16, 16-21 and 21-15 and a final score of 2-1.
The Badminton champion took to her twitter to announce her victory and mentioning the fact that she was the only Pakistani player to win gold medal in singles match.

Mahoor has also shown interest in going to Olympic 2020, representing Pakistan for single badminton matches. Earlier this year Mahoor also won a bronze medal at Bulgarian International Championship 2019. She is currently on the spot of 168th at World Single Ranking.
Her consistent winning at international and domestic tournament has given her the hope to qualify for the Olympics 2020. While talking to a private publication Mahoor share her feeling towards the qualification.
My aim is to represent Pakistan in the 2020 Olympics for which I am playing International tournaments. To qualify for Olympics 2020, I need to come in the Top 70 players of the world.
Mahoor is just 22 and already going places with her dedication and hard work. She has represented Pakistan in many international events and wish to bring big laurels to Pakistan. In other news 19 years old Joseph Gulfam has already qualified for Olympic 2020 in Tokyo to represent Pakistan for shooting competitions.
We rarely see any other sports gaining media or public attention but stars like Mahoor need our support and recognition. These youngsters are building a positive image of Pakistan in the world with their sports.
