The government of Sindh has announced that motorcycles being manufactured within the province should come with tracking devices pre-installed. This will help in the reduction in the number of street crimes.
In a meeting chaired by Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal and attended by tracking companies, motorcycle manufacturers, Sindh police, excise department, Rangers and Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), this decision was discussed and taken.
The meeting further led to the decision of vehicles without trackers will be impounded after 6 months of issuance.
Names of the companies who will be providing the trackers will soon be shared. It will also be mandatory to register all new motorcycles before bringing them on the roads.
