Many Pakistani actors have worked across borders and vice versa, however many of them have got the offers and they’ve turned down the roles. One of them is Nadia Hussain. Recently, she was at an interview and she revealed why she did so. She was at The Night Show with Ayaz Samoo when she talked about many things including why she refused offers from Bollywood. Here have a look at her interview.
She revealed that she had been presented with numerous offers from India while she was actively involved in the fashion industry as a model. However, due to personal circumstances at the time, she had to make the difficult decision to decline these career-changing opportunities.
She also spoke addressing the speculation that her husband played a role in her choice, Nadia clarified that while he never forbids her, she was already engaged and on the verge of getting married when the offers came her way. She explained that she was in India for a fashion shoot when the movie and fashion show offers started pouring in, but she had reservations about committing to long-term projects in India as she anticipated challenges in frequently traveling there after marriage. Consequently, she politely turned down the offers, expressing her uncertainty regarding future availability.
Bollywood and LollywoodÂ
The Bollywood and Lollywood industry has always had a friend-and-enemy relationship. However, over the years, the actors have had to build a tolerance against the political and content rivalry between the two countries and their films. Similarly, many celebrities have also managed to create and maintain friendships across borders which has led to diversity and fewer preference castings in Bollywood movies. For example, many Pakistani actors have now acted in Indian movies, like Mahira Khan alongside Shahrukh Khan or Mawra Hocane in Sanam Teri Kasam. And vice versa such as Om Puri in Actor in Law as Fahad Mustafa’s father.
