Jamil is one actor in the drama industry who is socially woke. She has been in the news for raising her voice against issues such as sexual abuse, child labour, and child trafficking.
She also essayed a key role Angeline Malik’s Mujhay Jeenay Do that aired in 2017 and tackled the issue of child marriages.
Jamil also stated that she doesn’t endorse any fairness product after appearing at Samina Peerzada Show.
“I cannot and do not endorse the need for ANY woman to lighten her skin to look more attractive. A woman’s dark skin is her beauty. She should wear it with extreme pride and love! Yes, women come in different colours, shapes, sizes, and personas.
“Deal with it world. Respect them all, please. Stop telling us and making money off brainwashing the planet as to what our standard for beauty needs to be. We are all beautiful. Racism should not be endorsed. Body shaming should not be endorsed,” she said.
The actress was recently appointed as a goodwill ambassador by Sarah Ahmed.
