najam-sethi-clash-between-ipl-and-psl-champions

The best of Pakistan vs the best of India. A blockbuster face-off between the champions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL). Fireworks, full stadiums, record-breaking viewership… goosebumps, right?

Well, turns out former PCB chairman Najam Sethi is dreaming the same dream just like many fans on both sides of the border.

In a recent interview, Sethi opened up about the long-standing wish for a high-stakes clash between the top teams of the two biggest T20 leagues in the world.

“If the situation improves, I think there should be a team of IPL champions and a PSL champion,” he said.

It’s a sentiment fans on both sides of the border can relate to — even if political tensions and security concerns keep putting that dream on hold.

“But will it be possible in the near future? I don’t see it happening soon,” Sethi admitted, with a touch of realism.

More Than Just Cricket

Despite the current roadblocks, Najam Sethi hasn’t lost hope. He believes India and Pakistan produce some of the finest cricketing talent in the world — and that a head-to-head between the two leagues could be nothing short of iconic.

It wouldn’t just be a game — it would be THE game.

And while we might have to wait for that to become reality, Sethi’s looking at other ways to elevate the PSL on the global stage.

Najam Sethi strongly believes that the PSL has outgrown its local boundaries — and it’s time to take the show on the road.

“I think that the PSL should be expanded. And if it can be played in the USA or the UK, or even have some games there, it could work out financially,” he suggested.

Let’s face it — cricket fans are everywhere. From packed stadiums in Leeds to buzzing desi crowds in Dallas, taking PSL to international markets could bring in new fans and even more money.
