National Crush Naimal Khawar Chose Family Over Fame—Here’s Why

Naimal Khawar, who is considered Pakistan’s national crush, is loved not only for her striking beauty but also for her graceful life journey. The actor is married to Hamza Ali Abbasi, making a perfect match in the eyes of fans all over the country. They are proud parents of a four-year-old son named Mustafa, whose arrival marked a transformative phase in Naimal’s life.

Prioritising Family over Stardom

Recently, Naimal appeared on Zara Noor Abbas’s show, What Momsense? and candidly shared her journey to motherhood and the sacrifices she made. Talking about her acting career, she recalled when her drama was airing and she was trending nationwide.

However, at the height of her success, she left the spotlight to focus on her family. “I stopped acting when my career could have taken off, but I wanted to build a family,” she revealed. By the age of 26, she held Mustafa in her arms. That’s when she began, what she described as, the most beautiful chapter of her life.

Overcoming Challenges of Motherhood

Naimal also shared a personal experience of having acute postpartum depression after giving birth to Mustafa. She emphasised how often mothers are not given proper care during these times, saying, “When the baby is born, people focus on the child, but the mother needs care too.” Her depression and physical changes prevented her from painting, which once consumed most of her time.

The Role of Partnership

Naimal further credited her husband for their open communication and shared responsibilities.“Before marriage, and especially before having a baby, it’s important to discuss mutual needs and expectations,” she advised.

Together, they decided that Hamza would handle household expenses while she would dedicate herself to raising Mustafa. Today, she revels in motherhood with her “happy child,” Mustafa—hhe does not cry much and is full of energy. “I did it for my child,” she says after admitting that the decision to quit acting didn’t come easy to her.
