In an attempt to further boost UAE’s position as the primary destination for top talent around the world and international investors, the Cabinet has adopted a new system of entry visas.
Now investors and professionals will be able to get a long term residence visa for up to 10 years!
Not only that, the families of these categories of expatriates will also be receiving the same visa validity.
Apart from that, students who are top performers, will also be eligible for the 10-year visa scheme.
This decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by His His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, further reinforces the UAE’s position as a primary destination for international investors and global talent.
The initial announcement of this move had been sent out via tweet from the official Twitter handle of Shaikh Mohammad.
The new rule was approved by at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Sheikh Mohammad at the Presidential Place in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, were also present.

In a statement, Sheikh Mohammad said:
The UAE will remain a global incubator for exceptional talents and a permanent destination for international investors. Our open environment, tolerant values, infrastructure and flexible legislation are the best plan to attract global investment and exceptional talents to the UAE.
This new visa system will not only boost the country’s economic competitiveness globally but will also increase the chances of attracting investors and competencies to the UAE.
According to the system, a 10-year residency visa would be granted for specialists in the research and technical field, medical, scientific as well as scientist and innovators. A five year residency visa for students studying in the UAE would be granted along with a 10 year visa for exceptional students.
The new development is indeed a good news for Pakistanis who are willing to invest in UAE and students who are interested in pursuing education in top varsities of Arabian Peninsula.
