An oil leak occurred near Sea View in Clifton, Karachi, after a pipeline belonging to Pakistan Refinery ruptured. The ruptured pipeline spilled furnace oil onto the service road and into a nearby residential buildingย as reported by Express News on Sunday.
Damage Contained: Cleanup Efforts Underway
Authorities confirmed that pumping through the damaged pipeline has been halted. To manage the situation, sand is being used to absorb and dry the oil that has spread across the road. Excavation work to repair the broken pipeline has also started, though the full extent of the damage can only be assessed after a thorough investigation.

Traffic and Pedestrian Issues
Moreover, a spokesperson for the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) highlighted that roadside hotels and tea stalls on the pavements contribute to severe traffic congestion in the area, further disturbing pedestrian movement on top of the leakage.
